Youth Trip to Rooted in Community (R.I.C.)
July 25th-29th

Dear Community Supporters,

Earth's Keepers is an Urban Farm in the middle of Southwest Philadelphia.  We have been in existence for over 3 years, and our mission is to provide organic foods to the West Philadelphia Community while fostering the next generation of youth. In support of this mission, we employ inner city high school students via grants and during the summer months. They learn how to grow organic fruits and vegetables during their summer program. The high school students are assisted by 2 interns from the University of Pennsylvania. We are requesting $6500 so that our 5 students, 2 interns and their director can attend RIC (Rooted in Community) Summit in Iowa from July 25th-29th.  www.rootedincommunity.org.  The students attended last year and were instrumental in developing the Youth Food Bill of Rights.

The conference is about food justice for all people and access to fresh, culturally appropriate organic foods. The Earth's Keeper's students are excited about attending and having the opportunity to further assist in the development of the Youth Food Bill of Rights, which will be presented at the summit.  Your support will provide inner city youth with a unique opportunity to travel and meet individuals who are doing similar projects.

If you are interested in donating, please follow this link to our donation page: http://www.indiegogo.com/earthskeepers.  We thank you and sincerely hope you will be able to support our efforts. Every donation counts!

Sincerely,

Earth's Keepers
